Salvation Through Faith In Jesus
What is faith?
Faith is to hope for things which are not seen but which are true.
Faith in Jesus Christ means believing that :
1. Jesus is the only literal son of God who came in the flesh.
For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up his only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life – Jn 3:16, Amp.
And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth. – Jn 1:14, Amp.
2. He suffered for the sins of all mankind through the shedding of His blood, His death on the cross, and later, His resurrection.
He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men, a Man of sorrows and pains, and acquainted with grief and sickness; and like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or have any esteem for Him.
Surely he has borne our grieves (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy].
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole… – Isa 53:3-11, Amp.
3. Every true Christian will eventually be resurrected because of the Atonement: Their soul, spirit, and new body will united, made perfect, and will never die again.
For just as [because of their union of nature] in Adam all people die, so also [by virtue of their union of nature] shall all in Christ be made alive – 1 Corinthians 15:22, Amp.
4. Coming unto Christ is the only way we can be saved from the sins.
Therefore He is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally, and for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them – Heb 7:25 Amp.
If you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation – Rom 10:9,10 Amp.
